Product Launch: Huawei P30 Pro
We had the pleasure of working with Huawei for the launch of the new P30 Pro at The Carlu on Yonge and College. This time, Huawei challenged us to document the entire event on the new P30 Pro which at first I was a little afraid to accept. I would say it was quite the challenge (being an iPhone user myself) managing through all the different modes of the phone – but by the end of the night, I was convinced that I wanted the P30 Pro because of the results this phone gave me!
My team and I had a great time ditching our 10-pound DSLR camera’s and capturing the whole event with this phone.
My first initial reviews of the phone were its ability to capture in low-light without flash. While The Carlu was in a dark setting, the Huawei phone managed to pull in incredible amounts of light. Taking photos in auto mode without flash was incredible in terms of capture ability, but turning on Night mode furthered the game of phone photography, achieving even more detail. I was so surprised to see how natural the final images looked because the actual room was much darker than it really was.
The next mode I could not get enough of was the Portrait/Aperture mode. The portrait mode was impressive – cutting out the subject with a nice gradient blur background. The aperture mode allows you to customize the aperture you want from f/0.95 aperture to f/16 aperture.
Overall, I am very impressed with the Huawei P30 Pro’s camera module. It’s performance with zoom x50, that bokeh background, low-light ability, and noise reduction is incredible! I would definitely recommend the P30 Pro to all camera enthusiasts.
The P30 launch event at Carlu was very well-done – The experience was very well executed and they even invited Gal Gadot (aka Wonderwoman) and Magic! It was a pleasure to hear the introductions made by Huawei’s President, Yanmin Wang and to celebrate with a few hundred guests. They had great food, drinks, performers, and stations to test out the new P30 pro all night long.
Nonetheless, I had such an amazing time experiencing and capturing the launch party with the P30 Pro and I can’t wait to hear what you guys think of it! PS. Check out this highlight film shot on the P30pro as well!
